Kim/Branson Mustangs Advance to Regional Championship

For the first time in sixteen years, the Kim/Branson boys’ basketball team made it successfully through the District playoffs in Lamar to advance to the Regional playoffs in LaJunta. The road to Regionals was not an easy one. The boys lost a heartbreaking game in overtime to Springfield, but came back the next night to beat Wiley, again in overtime.

The first round of Regional play matched them against McClave who beat them earlier in the season on their home court. But this time, Kim was no match, with a final score of 62-54.

Kim/Branson Mustangs will face a fierce opponent, Sangre De Cristo, in the Championship game. The winner will represent Southern Colorado in the State Tournament in Pueblo.

Go Mustangs!!!
